Carlos Delclós
I am a Serra Hunter Lecturer in Sociology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and a researcher at the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP-UAB). Drawing on a robust mixed-methods skillset, my research areas include social stratification, urban sociology, political sociology and social policy. My interdisciplinary contributions span urban studies, housing studies, citizenship studies, migration studies and social determinants of health.
Project
Within the Property and Democratic Citizenship project, my research uses the EU-SILC and PSID (United States) data sets to compare housing conditions, property relations and inequality in Greece, the Netherlands, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. I am particularly interested in the differential experiences of citizenship and housing precariousness, the role of property in shaping these dynamics, and the capacity of public policies to eliminate precariousness in these fields.
